Protest Platters
Large serving platters designed by Cincinnati-based artist Terence Hammonds and created by Breakfront Pottery in collaboration with Welcome Project artisans Pedro Moreno, Adriana Prieto Quintero, Monica Andino, and Erika NJ Allen. This limited edition of 50 platters features a variety of contemporary and historical protestors. Each edition is signed by Terence Hammonds and stamped by the Welcome Project and Breakfront Pottery.
Terence Hammonds (b. 1976) is a Cincinnati-based printmaker whose practice centers on Black cultural memory and racial justice. Trained at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Hammonds creates print-based work, ceramics, and installations that fuse historical imagery with decorative motifs and contemporary music culture. His work is in the permanent collections of the Cincinnati Art Museum and Newark Museum of Art. He was included in State of the Art at Crystal Bridges Museum (2013) and had a solo exhibition, Universal Magnetic, at the Taft Museum of Art (2023).
